She has a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Illinois, a Master of Education in college student personnel from Grand Valley State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in educational leadership from Miami University. Prior to joining Miami in 2007, she held positions at North Central College and Ball State University. Vicka Bell-Robinson, using pronouns, she, her, hers, has worked professionally in higher education for the last 17 years and is currently the director of Residence Life at Miami University. Bautista also works with the College of Arts and Sciences as administrative coordinator for the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program as an Instructor in Comparative American Studies and, as the college’s Posse Liaison.Īs an instructor in the Comparative American Studies Program, Bautista has taught CAST 335 Latinx Oral History and FYSP 013 Erotic City: Prince and a Purple Urban Imaginary.īautista has held other positions at Oberlin College including director of Residential Education, director of the Bonner Scholars Program, and Latinx Community Coordinator in the Multicultural Resource Center. ![]() The AVP has several direct reporting lines including Business Operations, the Multicultural Resource Center, Student Activities, and Student Conduct and Community Standards. As AVP, Bautista flexes between day-to-day management and divisional/institutional leadership, collaborating with key campus stakeholders around resource allocation, strategic planning, and student success. Barkin has served as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students, as a peer reviewer for the American Journal of College Health and as a consultant for a number of university health services across the United States.Īdrian Bautista serves as assistant vice president (AVP) of student life. She has been the recipient of multiple awards for outstanding scholarship and service including the Lifetime Achievement Award from ACHA. She is a nationally recognized leader in the area of pandemic planning for colleges and universities. Barkin is the Past Chair of the Nursing Section of GPHA and Past President of ACHA. Over the course of her career, she has held offices in local, regional and national college health associations, and the Georgia Public Health Association (GPHA). She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and an American College Health Association (ACHA) Fellow. She received her doctorate in public health and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to her work in the NCHD, she served as the director of Carnegie Mellon University Health Services for 27 years. In that capacity, she oversaw the operations of the District office, 13 county clinics and the HOPE Center. She was the District Nursing Director for the North Central Health District (NCHD) in Middle Georgia and subsequently served as the Deputy Director of the District from 2017 to 2019. Barkin is currently the Co-Chair of the American College Health Association (ACHA) COVID-19 Task Force and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Healthcare Georgia Foundation.
